Waterbug Consulting and Education John Gooderham, Edward Tsyrlin and Tom Sloane have many years of teaching freshwater ecology under their collective belts. They also have a long list of public presentations that they can be blamed for. Collectively they are ........ THE WATERBUG COMPANY. Capable of all sorts of waterbug related tasks they can teach the masses, draft intensive teaching programs in waterbug taxonomy, assemble reference collections, visit exotic locations armed only with a net and enthusiasm...and all at reasonable (and negotiable) cost. Fun and exciting projects earn discounted rates...so contact us for a quote. A truncated CV Things we've done in between workshops.... September 2008 -Waterwatch NSW coordinator training - introductory session for new waterwatch co-ordinators to give them a feel for the waterbugs and how useful they can be as an educational tool....also took the chance to reiterate how much more fun waterbugs are than water quality kits. 2006 & 2008 (John with DPIW) - Single day training waterbug Identification to family level as one module of the AUSRIVAS accredited training in Tasmania. October 2006 - MCing the Goulbourn / Broken Water Week awards ceremony (Ed and John) - we got in the local paper. Must have gone ok....or perhaps nothing ever happens in shepparton ...you judge.(The Shepparton News Oct 2006) 2005 (Ed and John) - Talk tour of South Australia -a good chance to run the movies past people, went well, slept on floors, got paid with bottles of wine. Ongoing Butterfly Adventures (Ed). Chrysalis kits and educational talks for all ages at schools. Emerging butterflies are an amazing thing. http://www.butterflyadventures.com.au 2003-2006 (Tom and John) University of Tasmania demonstrating zoology, Central highlands biogeography field trip - Tas uni is a bit rubbish.... paid with food and shelter.....really. It was ace fun in the beginning.....stopped when the students started to be taught about "tactical learning". Which means you don't have to do anything unless its assessed...don't get me started. Spring 2004 - Waterwatch Tasmania "train the trainers day". Went well - did lots of this stuff to thank the Tasmanian waterwatchers who helped to make the Waterbug Book readable.
